Am I the only one who sees a flaw in the setup of this contest? If the videos are based on likes or views, then the earliest entries will obviously get the most, regardless of quality. Would it not make more sense to set them up like the model/avatar/game of the week where everybody submits and the winner is voted on by the community?

I agree, there is a flaw in this contest's setup. Not only do the earliest entries get the most likes, but players with subscribers will also get guaranteed likes., for example, if a player has 200+ subs already, that's 200 likes guaranteed. pretty unfair

Those are valid points, but you also have to consider that the intentions of these contests are to boost exposure to Kogama. So a large amount of views and likes shows success in this aspect, regardless of the submitter's existing notoriety and subscribers (but those things do carry favor in such requisite). I suppose on the other side of things the Devs could decide which video they like the most, but this is subjective judging and is prone to player complaints. Nonetheless, such judging has been done before in these contests in the manner of special mentions. I would argue you can't really win here. There's no perfect compromise. Still, I hope these contests keep coming because it means more creative content exists on and about Kogama. (And one of these days I'll start making non-bug videos to submit. )

I do understand the purpose to expand notoriety for the game, and that's awesome. My problem ensues when they offer prizes. If it was just for fun, that'd be fine, but it also means a little more to us as players. Badges are like crack to the KoGaMa community, and we want them all. Plus I know the DEVs are upset that we have become so uninterested in eachother and want the community to be as beautiful as it once was. Personally, I think a vote would be a 'two birds with one stone' score. The point of popularity is another issue. If this is based purely off of likes, then the victor will either be Excel or some twelve year old Brazilian kid with a bunch of little buddies who he can get to vote for him, regardless of video quality. My patience with the game may have ran out, but I still lurk. I love Kogama and all I want to do is give my input on what can be done to make it better.
