You have to pay for tiers. Edit: Sometimes.

Does this mean that when you leave a game halfway through, if you rejoin it later you'll be at the same position?

Great update, however I'm disappointed with some factors. First of all, I want to talk about the rush you had to finish this uptade. I know they want to improve over time, but I feel like it has not been polished enough.
- Learning
Surely, this is a giant update. It will completely change many games, and new incredible games will emerge that will made the most of this system. However, I feel as if the learning tutorial is very vague. I did not learn anything by reading and re-reading the tutorials that the game presents about this new mechanic. I think you should give a deeper tutorial on this.
- Lack of customization (again)
You are going to add new tiers and new things where you can put limitation, right? Even with this, the lack of custom makes me very uncomfortable. There are some things missing, let's list:
- You can not name Tiers
- You can not choose how many crystals it takes to get to the next tier
- You can not choose if Crystals reset after a round
That was all I could find, not a big problem. The biggest problem is not being able to choose how many crystals you need to climb Tiers.
- Creator control
The creator does not have much control over the tiers and the players. As it is a system that requires a lot of care from the creator, I think it should have more freedom (Reset tiers of a game, for example.) Add some more limitations on buying Tiers.
Oh, talking about them. Let's get into a complicated subject. The map creator must have control over the purchase of tiers.
If he does not want players to buy tiers, he should have the option to disable it. I wonder why there is no such important option right away. Also, he should have control over the Elite discount as well, if he wants to leave the fair deals.
This is an update that will completely change many maps.
You guys did a great job with the menus, and the system itself. I expected to be disappointed when i saw the uptade in Trello, but I'm actually really impressed. As I said at the beginning of the post, I'm just disappointed in the team's rush. You should be more careful, because the community went into total chaos and confusion when they saw the uptade, all thanks to the tutorial and lack of customization on the Tiers purchase.
Congratulations to Multiverse, keep working like this!

Thanks for your feedback :-) Regarding the lack of customization, the update is in a very early version. There will be many more things to add to each Tier, there will be more Tiers. Game Creators cannot control the amount of Crystals needed to unlock Tiers, but the more you add to a Tier, the longer it will take to unlock. Again, thanks for your feedback - we'll take it into consideration :-)

Does this mean that when you leave a game halfway through, if you rejoin it later you'll be at the same position? No, that's not part of this update. This update is about progression through Game Tiers and the Crystal Highscore :-)

A few points on this: The main reason for you not being able to choose crystal requirements is actually in place to help reward good creators for their efforts. Otherwise it will result in a race-to-the-bottom in terms of copying games and giving the rewards sooner. 'The best parkour game is the one where you are tier 3 as soon as you enter.' wouldn't be an issue. Resetting tiers: There shouldn't be that option if somebody has spent time and effort (or gold) in your game. he deserves to keep it. I wouldn't trust a system that allows people to reset my tier whenever they feel like it. Simply put we want people to value gold as an option to skip progression. Just like many other online games Rewards the creators just like a model or avatar sale. This is probably not sustainable for every game so it will likely result in more gold purchases, and more sales for good creators - finally game makers can get rewards for good games The elites don't get a discount, they get more gold for selling game tiers on their games. the deals are the same. They do get their XP boost that they paid for though

Really, I agree with you. But the system gets extremely confusing, I was probably more than 3 minutes trying to figure out how to control the tiers gain, I wanted a specific amount of crystals to release a portal because I wanted the quantity to be accurate. Maybe not let the player control, but say how many crystals is necessary to reach the level (At least to the creator of the map) I do not think it would be a problem to reach Tier 3 in the beginning, why would this be fun and turn out to be a competition? Players will not go on a map that gives you the reward right from the start.
Well, I guess you're right about that part.
Yep, but I'm sure many map makers will be dissatisfied with the lack of this option. I think the cause of the lack of fair choice, but maybe release this option for level 30+ players.

*Tutorials* You're all right, they are inadequate. Better ones coming up *Tier names* Coming up! *Crystal pricing* We currently only support XP as Game Tier contents. XP is "kogama global", i.e. it's not a game specific reward, so we cannot allow games to control the handout of it directly. That's why the automatic Crystal pricing is in place. Once we start supporting game-specific content (and we have a lot coming up) we can start allowing complete freedom in terms of pricing of tiers.

Maybe a good way to '' Save progress '' is that when you touch the attack time flag, that your result is saved in a list of best winners with better time, as shown with the current Game Tiers

Maybe a better way to get people informed before something big like this is to make a video for your YouTube channel, (by going through all the configurations and explaining everything new that the update brings) ... So you can avoid these confusions ...
(You can even do the games with more than one person, so the examples are more realistic! From there everything depends on your imagination! I know you can do it ...)
And as they were saying before, I think the rush caused several bugs (I understand that it's something new and that should be tried, but ... I think they could try it a bit more before removing it)
At the end of everything, I know it's a very good update and as they said before, there will be players who will take advantage of this new update to the maximum in their games, and new creators will be recognized for their works ... I think this is a very good update, and I hope they continue this way to gradually take out all the new features that the community is offering ... Keep it up!

goods and bads:
first of all, you guys can't release this in the main servers before releasing kick/ban tools for builders, if you do, things will go really bad.
GOOD
-now we have something that stays with the player between rounds, and even if he rejoin, -now there is a way to get golds from your maps, finally -getting rewarded from winning conditions
BAD -only 3 tiers -can't customize the amount of points required to the next tier -builders don't have any notion of how the requirements for next tier will be set by the calibration -any update makes the map go in beta mode
IDEAS for the next version
-players have the option to reset their tiers in a map
-being able to add how many tiers we want
-checkpoints saved per game, this is a progression feature after all, if not with the current checkpoints, maybe a new global checkpoint that can have tier requirements
-warp points, players will have a list of unlocked warp points that can be accessed when pressing ESC then in the bottom [warps], in the warp points builders can set tier requirement and an option [reach to unlock] where the player have to reach to the warp point to unlock it, builders could also choose the name of the warp point.
-an option in the crystals and winning conditions to reward the players only once, crystals with this option enabled won't respawn ever again
-make so each crystal can have it's own color, this way we could make them fit better depending on which area of the map we are adding them
