I've been meaning to announce this one particular game for a very long time now... I originally meant to do it through a premiered video on my YouTube Channel, but right now, I figured that this is the right time to do it. Plus I figured I could always make a trailer of it when enough of the game is complete so there would still be some great hype for it.
This project was originally intended to be only a Friends exclusive project. Believe it or not, I started working on this game exactly on June 28th, 2016 and it was originally intended to be a continuation of an old series of mine. Before I took a solid 2 year hiatus from KoGaMa, I decided to develop ideas and transform this game into what could possibly be (in my opinion) one of the greatest and most iconic adventure games on KoGaMa.
May I introduce to you guys... "Legend of the Past":
Here are some screenshots of the current development:
A bit of the current overlook of "Gaialand".
Early development of "Gaialand Village".
Inside the "Gaialand Crater".
The first dungeon, "Inside the Mining Facility".
More of "Inside the Mining Facility".
Outside of the second dungeon, "Ancient Castle of Gaialand". (The trees in the background are unable to properly render due to the distance but they're there, I promise. )
One of the many rooms in "Ancient Castle of Gaialand". There will be a bunch of puzzles in each tower, kind of like the puzzles featured in my "Floating Land" series. Also as you can see here, there will be a bunch of Sentry battles.
SPOILER ALERT:
The "Past Portal Shard" is used to open up the "Past Portal", which leads to the past.
A bit of the planned cover photo and title.
Extra screenshots of development:
VERY early development of Icicle Village and Icicle Palace. There will also be a bunch of trees surrounding here very similar to outside Ancient Castle of Gaia.
The trees I've been planting around the Castle, (talk about patience, lol) (also note that the trees are actually 2 separate models and not just one.)
An incomplete corner of the map.
What will the game be about?
- Legend of the Past will be an adventure game in which you are put on a mission to stop an ancient, but extremely advanced tribe from taking over and causing mass destruction to the present. You will need to work your way to find out how to reach the past by gathering specific elements found in dungeons and by returning them to the laboratory in Gaialand City.
How many planned areas and dungeons are there?
- There are currently 6 planned areas for the game, along with 4-5 dungeons. The areas planned are Gaialand Village/Gaialand, Gaialand City, Gaialand Crater, Ancient Castle of Gaialand, Icicle Village, and Past Gaialand Village. The dungeons planned are Inside the Mining Facility, Ancient Castle of Gaialand, The Skyscraper/Inside The Skyscraper, Icicle Palace, (Past Gaialand Village might be a dungeon).
The game is pretty much approximately 45% complete so I am currently looking at a release date for it sometime in early-mid 2020. This project currently exists only on KoGaMa Friends, BUT as of right now, I would like to start copying it to www. I figured that if I were to continue building at this pace by myself, which I have been for the past 6 months, this game probably wouldn't see a release date until 2021 and plus Friends is just about completely transformed into a test server, so why continue building it there? I've started to become a bit known to the rest of the great KoGaMa community.
In the past couple of weeks, I have set up plans for a building team to help me with this transition.
If you are interested in joining this team, please simply PM me that you are interested in helping. If necessary, I will send you a link to a Google Docs Application for you to fill out to be considered for the team. Those who are chosen will be invited to the project along with a private Discord Server (optional) in which we can all chat and discuss each others roles and all. And who knows! Maybe I'll release a sequel to this game some day, so I could require some help on it...
Last but not least, I will be leaving on vacation on June 8th for a road trip across the country of approximately 4,378 miles. I should be getting back around late June to early July so development for the project on www should be starting around then.
