I've made a post recently (posted and translated here by piped) criticising the current state of KoGaMa. I admit that I was a little bit rude by making a joke saying that "even a lettuce leaf can use Unity", but I know that developing things for KoGaMa is hard because of the way the game was programmed in ~2009, and his limitations because of the backend. I criticized that KoGaMa was focusing on methods to make money, and I don't really find this a problem, since the ways used by the game are fair and not abusive, and the team needs money to pay their bills, but some things like having to buy a new theme for every project really bothers me, but that is not a really big problem.
The point I was trying to say on making that post is: KoGaMa needs more transparency on development and frequent updates. When Admiral was on the Multiverse Aps, a Trello was made to show the roadmap for the game, addressing all the things that was being developed, the to-do list and the suggestions that where considered to be in the game. The last time that Trello was updated back in june 24 of 2019, no more changes have been made there since them. Having a Trello is really good and it would be great if it get updated again.
About the frequent updates, I can't point the finger to the development team and blame them for not doing the work faster, but there is a long gap between updates and this is a thing that can't be ignored. One of the solutions that can be made is to take some of the simple suggestions and implementing it to the game occasionally, and making a changelog on the news page for every single change that has be made into the game. By doing this, the players will be more confident that the development team is doing something, instead of thinking that the game is in a "hiatus".
And the biggest suggestion I gave is to have a major update that adds a lot of the long-date community suggestions, like a compilation of the simple, quality-of-life ideas. Adding more options, logics, blueprints and materials (like the controversial glass block) would can boost the current community and bring back older players to the game. The thing is, this is not an easy update to make. Having to change a lot of the older code could be difficult, that's why this should be a major update and could take a long time to be done.
tl;dr: KoGaMa needs to have changelogs posted to the news page, updates to the official Trello and a major update that adds/change a lot of the long-date community suggestions.
