I think hats should be cheaper because they are just hats first of all and they are selld for way too much gold.

I think you have it backwards. Features and content that directly contribute to a player's creativity should be low priced. Cosmetic features like avatars and accessories are irrelevant to the game and have no value to creativity, only self expression. Thus they can be priced whatever the devs feel fair.

Key components of video games are goals, rules, challenge, and interaction. When you look at an MMORPG, your typical goals are probably going to be one of the following: - Master all endgame content; explore everything, kill all bosses, complete all raids.
- Obtain the highest level equipment and items.
- Become a leader or member of the most skilled or influential social group (guilds) in the game.
- Become the richest player in the game.
You can generate lists of goals and purposes for essentially any game. These goals are what derives a player's entertainment value of that game. But what happens when you get to open ended games like Kogama that run on player created content? What would players' goals be? - Create the most played and liked game on the website.
- Become well known and famous.
- Become a rich player by dominating the marketplace.
Devs integrate the rules and challenges that determine players' goals. So what the Kogama devs have done so far has created an environment where the players main source of entertainment (goal seeking) is through their creativity: - How creative and well designed your game is defines how much it will be played and liked.
- How well you build based on your creativity or how friendly you are determines your popularity.
- How appealing your models are to purchase is based on the creativity of the player.
In my opinion, Kogama derives entertainment value almost entirely from players' creativity. This means inhibiting creativity by making the features and tools that contribute to it less accessible, in turn, makes Kogama less enjoyable to play. Self expression isn't a major part of the game in itself, so its cost is naturally ambiguous.

Don't get me wrong, I think $4 for a virtual hat is pretty absurd, with all things considered. But if you're going to tell me you get most of your entertainment from Kogama by playing "dress up" instead of building and sharing your own content, then we have pretty different priorities.

Well if you love building your own content, surely you would love building your own hats, eh? Why not suggest a way to be able to edit your own hats? Honestly, even if you had to spend $0.50 to create a hat, this would be more indicative of a players creativity and be more enjoyable for them to make and use, than to charge them on average $1.26 for them. At that point, the hats the devs make would become premium and be more appealing to players that don't feel like making their own hats themselves.

Even if were fighting, which we weren't, people become surprisingly honest when they are angered. In the heat of an argument, someone might be more willing to say what's really on their mind instead of over worrying about someone's feelings - which on the Internet means little anyway.
Personally, I wish more people would argue about Kogama - because then that would mean they would at least talk about the things bothering them! Instead of this constant and needless worrying that you'd be unjustly banned for saying something bad about a game you love. Even if it was rightly justified to say it, in which it always is if it's constructive criticism and not selfish or entitled complaining.
Honestly, too many people think the devs are actively tuning into your personal conversations. I guarantee you, they're not.

Don't get me wrong, I think $4 for a virtual hat is pretty absurd. Try looking at Roblox's 20 dollars for a virtual hat that serves no purpose whatsoever.
