When looking through your feed, you can post on pages other than 1 and it will stay.
Steps to reproduce.

I don't think he literally means that posting on another feed page will cause the feed post itself to be displayed on the same page. Feed events are all organized chronologically, so that even if you did create a new feed post while viewing another page, it would be sent to the top of the stack that's on the first page.
I think the confusion here is that you're able to post at all when viewing other pages.

Oh, I see. Well that might be perfectly intentional then. How else will it show you that you've just posted something new?
When you refresh or move to another feed page, your new comment will go to the first page.
