Browser:aboutmybrowser.com/UUZ-ZWVzImage:Steps to reproduce:1. Build a platform 2. Move to the center of this platform, and fly directly up - only press E, or scroll wheel if you like you going slow 3. When you get up to a height of say 100 blocks or something, toggle horizontal drawplane, look directly down, and place flamethrower and spawn color of your choice on top of the center of this flamethrower 4. Press K while in Edit mode to center yourself - edit mode moves you backward a little bit, this is to center you again 5. Enter play mode, make sure you collect the flamethrower, and drop 6. Just before you are about to hit the ground, start using the flamethrower -> The result should let you be able to survive a fall at a large speed. Log:Attachment DeletedExtra:This exploit won't save you from every fall. It doesn't seem to work while going at a speed of 600 km/h or higher, only falls from around 150 blocks or lower seem to be survivable. I'd call it mostly an exploit, but since you can still hit the ground at a high speed and survive from it, it's probably a bug too.

I'll just leave this as a somewhat intentional exploit. The flamethrower was designed with this feature in mind, not necessarily surviving high falls but being able to use it as a weak kind of 'jetpack'. I tested this by going at ridiculous high speeds and testing how quickly you could decelerate using the flamethrower, and I was actually a bit surprised to see how effective it was. I reckon that even if you activate it at the very last second, it's enough to decelerate you to the point where the drop simply wont kill you. This of course wont work if you're already falling at 400 km/h, at that point you are quite simply going to splatter

Makes sense. I was thinking it was weird because I was using it at the exact last moment I hit the ground. I would have expected the flamethrower effect to be less quick, at least something that's only beneficial after a longer period of use - which is necessary for the faster drops, like you were testing.
Still learned something else from this though. The speedometer is a little slow in "catching up" to your real speed. As you can see in my image, I had already hit the ground, but it was still reporting 447+ km/h. And like you said, hitting something at 400 km/h or higher is definitely fast enough to kill your character.

Oh yeah, that's something I've noticed as well. I'll talk to Christian about it
