I can't reproduce this bug. I tried it in small, medium and large models but it still was normal for me. Is there something else we need to do before this bug works?

You have to place a Purple Light Fabric block, bellow the model, no matter about the color of the model: prnt.sc/jgpw8o . And no there is no something else to do before, I think you forgot to put a block of light purple fabric below the model

That's not a bug, but an intended feature. The beam is always the same, it just looks like that because of the purple background. Thanks for reporting though!
