Hello KoGaMians!
The above message - The Social Builder - is something we here at Multiverse hold very dear. KoGaMa is and always will be a social game, and as such we're willing to put effort and resources into maintaining that reality.
Being the community manager of the friends server, I've noticed we've become crippled in the social aspect, which in my eyes is completely unacceptable. This is why I'm here writing this message - to reinvigorate the playtesting community. How will I do so? That's up to you! Friends has always been about you guys. You get a say in a lot more than any other server does, take the highlights as a prime example, which is a thought process and way of building a community I'd like to continue using. This is why I'm going to ask you guys exactly what you want! So here's the gist of my idea.
Write a comment specifying what event you'd like to see first! A competition with badass rewards? Maybe an awesome event everyone can participate in? Write wwhatever's on your mind! Next week I'm going to round up all the plausible ideas (Fully autonomous AI is definitely not plausible!) and we'll have a vote. I hope this is something you guys will find exciting and participate in actively, I cannot wait to see what kind of crazy ideas you come up with!

Ok, so Codrew has spread these ideas around the community when this game was at its social peak a while ago. Here are my most popular ideas from back in the day: - Flowing water-like materials: I could see this being a new block type rather than a logic cube or something of that sort. The way the block is tilted could determine how strong the current is. Also, please let us use this in models. I was upset to learn that the destructible materials could not be. If I am to return in full, I want to be allowed a certain level of depth.
- Custom Music- Give us music creation tools like MIDI style sequencers and a multitude of instruments to create our own music in. (Little Big Planet 2's music creation stuff is a great reference if you are to incorporate this system)
- Custom AI- We aren't asking for anything super complex here, just something that shows us that you are listening. A Koga that can be placed down and given a custom or random path to follow would be fine enough. More so if we could choose its skin and maybe have dialog, but we NEED this. Even simple custom AI capability would allow us to make games on the friends server feel less lonely. If we could place down friendly and hostile kogas into our games, that would be awesome!
- More ingame building tools- All we have for in game creativity right now is the cubegun. Everybody knows how common it is for people to ruin other players' cubegun creations. After all, what is stopping us? there could perhaps be definable areas that can be claimed by players that other people can not tamper with and a world option that allows or disallows building anywhere outside of these zones. We also need something more powerful than the cubegun. Building with it is tedious and requires a lot of work for little reward. Building and editing tools are a MUST for creative games.
- Custom Pickups- while I'm on the topic of the cubegun, it sucks that we have a very small amount of cubes to use before needing to reload. It sucks that the mutant effect is only active for a few seconds. We need variety! In addition to being able to change the settings or the pickups we already have, we should also be able to make our own. You know, build the model, decide if it is a power/melee/ranged pickup and tell it what the projectiles and effects should do and look like, how the weapon functions. This would make KoGaMa SOOOOoooo much more appealing. It makes my mouth water just thinking about what I could do with it.
There are so many great ideas floating around beyond the stuff I have in mind, we just stopped asking because the really good ideas never make it through.

As far as events go, bring back the building contests! That is what really psyched me out back in the day. Actually winning one of those bad boys is what gave meaning to my name on this site, it's how people discovered my creations. I remember being the happiest person in the world when I won just enough gold to buy the first textured materials in the game. Contests are how the little guys who were actually good at building got to make their games stand out from the tons of crappy levels out there. It's what inspires the artist and what gives them the incentive to keep building!

Here is a list of some suggestions for improving our community and overall gameplay.
Community
• Make a third category in the news called "Spotlights", and move all of our past spotlights there (the news is getting rather cluttered). • Add a "Forums" link on the top toolbar on the website (to bring more players into our community). • Start a Christmas competition (we went through the whole year so far without a single competition, this should be fixed before it's to late). • Allow for all custom Blueprints to be sold on the Marketplace again.
Gameplay • There should be a way to modify how many coins a player earns automatically, and how much time their is between intervals. There should also be a way to disable the feature completely. • There should be a way to make it so chests cost money to open, which can add more of a risk to the game (you may earn less money than you paid, or the other way around). • There should be a way to make it so Collectibles cost money to collect.

Contests for sure! We all love contests here! We also love anything new to celebrate holidays! So A Christmas Contest would be wonderful! It would also be awesome to see a change up in the contests, Have a way for many people to win rather than just three people. you could have categories such as 'Most likes' 'Best build' 'Most Plays' 'Most clever' 'Most enjoyable' and 'Best game overall' each of these categories you can win 50-200 gold in and you can win more than one categories, in fact you can win all which would result in the grand prize! If you do this then more people can win and you wouldn't be just singling out who's good at building and who's not. That's how I feel contests should go! Regards on what event I feel should go first would definitely be a way to gift everyone on the friends server for Christmas. It can be either a new badge unlock or coupon code we enter to receive gold or a new hat which I think would be even better. Wait scratch that, A new particle effect - Snow. If we could be gifted a snow particle effect that would be just the best thing ever. Hands down. hahaha I think a way to gift the friends server should be first since we only have a week or less till Christmas! Then a winter contest after or something like that.

Hi,
1. Glass block, Detail (transparent) to give the option to break.
2. logic of time, details (rain, sun, thunder, snow, storm, drizzle)
3. New badges as a reward for the players (respecting rules, creating games, avatars and good models, etc.)

As far as social building goes, you guys are doing a decent job. There's room for improvement, for sure, but I would never try to argue that you're not doing things that pushes towards being a social builder. Consider the improvements made to the ingame chat window - these updates to communication and information display certainly help players understand each other better. Even having weekly content highlights on voted content is a wonderful privilege that builds up the community's standards. What I'm trying to say is, you've been working hard and it shows. If there's any decline in social activity, it's not likely to be because of your efforts in community management.
That being said, ideas regarding events that would excite and involve everyone? The easiest concept would be to host some form of competition. After all, Kogama's community has gotten increasingly more competitive over the past year, so it would be a good place to start. However, building competitions hasn't exactly increased social activity in the past. Furthermore, considering that the majority of players tend to play games rather than build them would suggest that a building competition isn't suited for every currently active player. In fact, this assumption would imply that the majority of the community would be happier if the competition featured some special game, developer published for example, which contains a goal or objective that unlocks something interesting to players in general. This could be something conceptually simple as "collect X object and unlock Y badge" while in this specific game. Or it could be more creative than that.

Yea. I saw this today 2014-12-19, and thought. Why dont the community make us a Winter Challenge?, like we can make some Kogama Projects together, and make an Wipeout Challenge. the we'll use 16 players per round, and check their time. the winner earn nothing in the start, but they will challenge again, vs 10 (and him self) And then the winner of that, make it to the semi-final, and on. And the winner earns 5000XP and 500-1000 gold, PLUS a; Wipeout Community Contest 2014 Badge, or something like that. Just, make it fun // Jamie_ES

There are tons of things that I'd like to add, like customizable weapons, water blocks, a more diverse vehicle creator. But If I were to add something that would increase the social aspect, I'd say make clan pages. I've started Avaks army, but in order to make it the way I wanted, I made the clan a player so he could have all the members as friends and have a clan map and avatar etc. Could you make a clan page, can be set up with moderators that can be edited by the creator, members can be added without a limit. Maps can be added to the clan's favorite list, I.e. clan maps. Clans can have a news feed as well directed by the creator and moderators, like featured member and stuff along that line. Even have a clan badge that only stays with you as long as your in that clan. This update would make clans more official, and really introduce more social aspects. I could say more but I don't want to make this post to complicated, but there's my idea.

Two things:
ALLOW PICKUPS TO BE TOGGLE-ABLE/HAVE AN INPUT This would allow for many possibilities. For example, at my survive the disasters place, after each round, some game coins could be toggled on in the center of the map as a reward. This would make it possible for a shop to exist because of a source of game coins (it should be infinite if toggled off then back on I think).
HIDE MODEL TOOL Allow us to, while in edit mode, hide models in order to see things better. This might make it possible for me to add more disasters to my disaster place. I know it sounds like I'm specifically requesting these features for myself (really I guess I am) but anyone could use these features in the right context.
