Based off the current state that KoGaMa is in, and the misinformation given by the KoGaMa Agreement and the Parents Area, I suggest for the moderation system and the rules to be changed.
Incorrect Statements
The KoGaMa Agreement and the Parents Area incorrectly state the following:
• KoGaMa automatically detects and blocks any inappropriate language in the chat
* The Friends server never had a censoring system, yet this has always been listed in the KoGaMa Agreement and the Parents Area
• Players can use "report tools" or send an email to support@kogama.com in order to report anything violating the rules
* While it is true that we can email KoGaMa, there aren't any "report tools", making this statement partially correct
• The ability to delete your KoGaMa account
* The KoGaMa Agreement claims that if you deleted your account, you'll lose any Silver/Gold, which incorrectly makes the statement that players can delete their own accounts
• Your account will be deleted after four months of inactivity
* Although the KoGaMa Agreement claims this, it is completely false; I've seen players who have been inactive for over a year and came back without any issues
Making false claims is one of the things that can ruin a company's reputation, which is why this needs to be fixed immediately.
Improving Moderation and Security
Here is a list of things that should be done in order to improve security and moderation:
• Modify the chat so that messages that include inappropriate content are hidden from public view, and make it so that moderators are given the message, allowing for them to take action if necessary
* Censoring the messages won't change much: it can't take the meaning out of the message
* A program can't be 100% perfect, so instead of automatically banning/warning the player, it should allow for a moderator to make sure that any necessary actions are taken
• Add a report button to profiles that will allow players to specifically tell a moderator what is wrong, so that necessary actions can be taken
* It would be a faster way of notifying a moderator
• Recruit trusted players to become moderators, and when the community gets big enough, maybe even add a way for players to apply for the position
* This would help significantly improve upon moderation; instead of the system relying completely on developers who have other jobs they have to do, have it rely on trust-worthy players who will do it to improve their community
New Rules
I suggest combining the rules from the KoGaMa Agreement, the Parents Area, and the News in order to make a complete set of rules. This would make it so that we don't have to rely on a simple news post in order to know what the rules really are. Here are the rules I suggest:
• It is forbidden to buy or sell any inappropriate items on the Marketplace
* Applying to pornographic, racist, profane, or otherwise inappropriate items
• It is forbidden to use any inappropriate avatars
* If it's forbidden to buy or sell, it's forbidden to use
• It is forbidden to create games with inappropriate content
• The use of any inappropriate language is forbidden
* This is not limited to the chat, but also applies to profiles and games
• Any type of spamming or flooding in the comments is forbidden
• The offense and bullying of any user is forbidden
* This applies to all users, including developers and moderators
• Deceiving other users in forbidden
* This applies to click-bait, the impersonation of moderators/developers, the offering of free Gold/Silver, and asking for another user's password
• The promotion or use of third-party programs for cheating is forbidden
* This applies to the use of programs like Cheat Engine, games that require Cheat Engine to play, and basically anything that requires third-party software to make (including the well-known "No Texture Block")
• Report any content breaking these rules
I would also suggest adding the following safety tips to the KoGaMa Agreement, the News, and the Parents Area:
• Never share your password with anyone other than your parent or guardian
• Do not share your email address(es) or phone number(s)
• Change your password every month
• Do not use every link that is given to you by another user
Have any ideas or concerns? Post them in a response!
EDIT: I noticed that I seem to have forgotten to include the rules regarding inappropriate game content, which I have just fixed...
