Introduction
I suggest for a new type of Logic "box" that allows for builders to create systems that can detect certain things about a player, from the player's weapon to the player's level.
The Status Detector
Appearance
This Logic "box" will look just like the grid seen on a teleporter, with the Logic connector of a pressure plate protruding from its side. The overall idea is that this "box" is completely invisible in-game, and emits a Logic signal when a player walks into it, that is if the player matches its requirements.
Function
When the Status Detector is right-clicked, one of the options given is "Settings". When this option is selected, the following menu will appear:
If a player that passes through the Status Detector matches every description that has the "detect" option enabled, a Logic signal is sent to any Logic Cube connected to the Detector. The following settings are available:
Pickup
This detects what pickup a player is using. The following is a list of options available in the drop down menu:
• None (if the player doesn't have a pickup, then this describes him/her)
• All (if the player is using any pickup, then this describes him/her)
• Weapon (if the player is carrying a weapon, not including Mutant, then this describes him/her)
• Effect (if the player is using Mutant or NinjaRun, then this describes him/her)
• Impulsegun
• Centergun
• Railgun
• Shotgun
• Bazooka
• Throwing Star
• Multi Throwing Star
• Revolver
• Double Revolvers
• Mutant
• NinjaRun
Vehicle
This detects what vehicle a player is using. The following is a list of options available in the drop down menu:
• None (if the plaeyr is simply walking, then this describes him/her)
• All (if the player is using any vehicle, then this describes him/her)
• Hovercraft
• Hamster Wheel (soccar ball)
• Firefly (small jetpack)
• Dragonfly (large jetpack)
Kills
Ranging from 0 to 200+, this detects how many enemies a player has killed.
Deaths
Ranging from 0 to 200+, this detects how many times a player has died.
Stars Collected
Ranging from 0 to 200+, this detects how many stars a player has collected.
Wins
Ranging from 0 to 100+, this detects how many times a player has won the game.
Level
Ranging from 1 to 45 (our current maximum level), this detects the player's level.
Settings
This allows the player to set whether every requirement must be met or any requirement can be met in order for the Status Detector to emit a Logic signal. This adds to the versatility of the Status Detector.
Possibilities
This is a list of possible uses for the Status Detector.
Unlocking Weaponry
The Status Detector can be used to make it so that those who killed a certain amount of players can get better weaponry.
Security
The Status Detector can be used to prevent those with weapons from entering certain areas, thus preventing the use of weaponry in "AFK Rooms".
"Vehicle Buttons"
The Status Detector can be used to make "vehicle buttons", basically making it so that some things can only be unlocked by driving a vehicle.
A better "Lives System"
The Status Detector would allow for a better "limited lives system", allowing for builders to make games that only allow for one life.
Unlocking Areas with Stars
The Status Detector would allow for players to unlock areas by collecting stars.
Adding on to the Leveling System
The Status Detector would allow builders to create their own "perk" systems.
Unlocking Content by Winning
The Status Detector would allow for builders to reward players for winning their games, encouraging players to continue playing, even after winning.
Custom XP Systems
The Status Detector would allow for builders to turn the GameCoins system into their own XP systems; players earn "XP" by playing, finding coins, and finding treasure, which can be used to "level up" to gain access to more content in-game, without losing any "XP" in the process.
A Pressure Plate Alternative
The Status Detector could simply be used as an alternative to Pressure Plates; it could be used to detect players on platforms, without saving a player from death if the platform disappears. It can also be used to detect players in the air, not just the ground.
