I have been playing Kogama for a long time, from the end of 2014-start of 2016 (thanks to A10.com), and in 2017-onwards. Since this game is not "popular" enough, unlike Minecraft and Roblox, there are not many theories, mystories and urban legends that gamers like. But if you look around here and there, you will be able to find all sorts of theories and everything similar that has to do with Kogama.
One particular thing that "caught" my eye was in June 2020, I was looking at some "meme" that WesternDude did in Kogama's discord server. I did not understand it at first, but he explained that it was "the truth about Kogama". I kinda forget about it after a while, but with the popularity of the Iceberg videos explanation on YouTube, it has now actually taken my attention once again. I have looked at this picture over and over again, and I try to understand how it all happened in Kogama, some of the things I remember and most of them... I just forget...
Here is the picture of the KoGaMa's Iceberg:
Now, I pretty much imagine that you and I will be able to put together all the lost puzzle pieces, and complete the explanation of Kogama's Iceberg. Some of the things even for her existed, and I'm afraid some parts are even fake, but I do not think it's something that will stop me from doing it. So I ask you, if you know about the Kogama Iceberg and you want to complete it. Write a comment here about the things you explain for the Kogama Iceberg (including photos and videos, if they exist at all), maybe I can add that to this page. I am not willing to give up until we can complete this complicated explanation.
* The simple thing that exists in every Iceberg Explanation in popular culture is this: Every Iceberg Explanation has about several levels of the type. Each level becomes darker and darker as you go down on the picture (Or is that what I think). Here in the picture there are about 4 steps:
Level One: Very Light (7 things)
Level Two: Light (9 things)
Level Three: Dark (10 things)
Level Four: Very Dark (13 things)
Level One: Very Light (7 things)
Level Two: Light (9 things)
Level Three: Dark (10 things)
Level Four: Very Dark (13 things)
- Also, I want to say big thanks to Joe Dawn, MrOzymandias*, MvDA and alpha for finding some of the things for Iceberg explained, I'm really appreciate you guys
* Even if he's saying that some things are B.S, I can still understand it.
Now Without any fuss, let's start the explanation! (this explanation is as of February 9, 2021, feel free to improve and expand it)
Level One: Very Light
The Godculus blueprint: Godculus are considered to be one of the things that has become quite iconic in the Kogama community. There is not much information I can give you about this (but as I said earlier, you can contribute and help me expand it) the original video uploaded by Codrew. Unfortunately, the original video was removed, and re-uploaded by Sorry, but also removed, the correct Codrew's video re-uploaded is blurry and in fast motion uploaded by one of Kogama's beloved users in the Polish community, KoGaMa STEVE Minecraft. You can also find similar videos of it on YouTube.
Old poison block animation: If you playing Kogama for a long time you probably remember the infamous poison block that always killed you in games. This block still exists in Kogama and using it for games such a parkour games, but just a few years ago it had an animation of this block back in 2011 - 2015. Due to quite a few problems of lags following this it was modified in 2016 / 2017 and the animation was no longer introduced in Kogama, which also includes the slime and the magma (lava) block animation that removed. The animation of the poison block can be found in Kogama's videos from pre-2016. (Here one for example).
Launchpad music editor: On October 22, 2011, the Kogama team released a video on Facebook of a preview of a Launchpad prototype that includes about 25 specific sounds. The description states that he will reach Kogama in the future, but since 2011, he has not yet coming to Kogama and may even have been canceled. I'm not really sure, but I can pretty much hope it's finally released in honor of Kogama's 10th birthday. The only thing that exists about this is the sounds. On April 4, 2012 a user named MrJolle, uploaded a video of all the sounds from the launchpad on YouTube, so that it would be possible to hear all the sounds now and create songs from it (example of music video that use this sounds).
Ninja NPCs: According to MvDA, she / he don't know if it was a hidden feature
(this is probably beacuse she's looked too hard into a statue in a roleplay map and her memory was blurry, which it will explained later)
, a mod, a thing in friends, a hack or a fan made video but she was remember that was ninja npcs somewhere. it was blockboy, but with a ninja skin painted on it, it didn't do nothing but play the default animation and i remember everyone was going crazy over it. However alpha say that it actually wasn't an NPC feature but a cheat/glitch, the player in the original video managed somehow to clone his own avatar, and that's all. There was just static copies of his skin around the map, then he put some plates and dialogues boxes to simulate an "NPC". Full 3D movement in 2D mode: 2D mode existed in Kogama in early 2015 and was discontinued in late 2018 / early 2019. (2D mode itself was discontinued in 2017) This was one of the favorite modes for users that was unfortunately removed from Kogama. You can find videos of a game in 2D on YouTube, and you can also find 2D games in Kogama, although it is not possible to play in 2D, you can play it in 3D mode.
Airplane version of the hovercraft: According to MrOzymandias, the video was appears to be a repost of Codrew's video showing off the never-released monoplane. A possible reason for it being referred to as a hovercraft variant is that the default monoplane model was a sideways hovercraft.
Third person view while holding a weapon: During the first 6-7 years of Kogama, it was possible to play shooting games (like War 4) in a third-person view mode, this mode also exists in most games that exist like Batman: Arkham Asylum, Apex Legends, etc. At the end of 2017, it is different and now you can play shooting games in a first-person view mode. You can find third-person view kogama gameplays on YouTube.
Level Two: Light
Milkegg Model curse: There is only of a couple "model curses" and neither would be well-known enough to be featured in the iceberg meme image of this. First, back in 2012, EBC member Cubik was obsessed with spreading rumors regarding the *undefined* glitch. He once posted a thread pointing out that there were models in the marketplace whose images were pure black (a legitimate glitch)... Then he proceeded to claim these were "dark models" that summoned *undefined* (it actually a completely B.S.). A second one is a glitch mentioned by Peaceful Player in one of her games, where models containing illegal cubes were discovered to vanish upon reloading the game; also, when added to the inventory, such models would occasionally appear randomly as intangible "ghost" models in the game. I'm still think on this one though -- milkegg sounds familiar for MrOzymandias on some reason.
Theme hidden debug opinions: According to Joe Dawn, it was had a page that permanent "CSS" (Cross-Site-Scripting) enabled that hackers abused mid 2020, therefore its removed. (incomplete Information).
Unused Wing cosmetic flap sound: ?
Wind turbine tear particle effects: ?
Oculus's eye texture: When it was first released, the oculus had a relatively high-resolution red iris texture. This predated the "team setting" on the oculus blueprint setting.
The third misplaced tree in City Template: ?
The Dragon blueprint incident: An intern at Multiverse ApS created a dragon blueprint which look similar to the Fire Sentry Tower which we all probably know today. Unfortantly, the dragon plueprint wasn't released. The only footage that exists about this are two videos posted on YouTube in 2012 and 2014.
First Hero's hidden room: ?
Rainbow text boxes in EBC projects: The only guess from MrOzymandias have is that this was derived from old game images in which text was colored pink. This was because the box's text was highlighted in pink when the box was selected, and such things often appeared in the screenshot.
Level Three: Dark
Cryptic messages in screenshot mode: ?
March 2014 Data leakage: Some games lost pictures during the time at the 2014, you can still find some games that have lost pictures, here one for example. Despite from that, you can play these games without any problem. And according to MrOzymandias he's don't know if that's the right date, but there was a time frame during which "hackers" abused a security flaw that allowed them to replace game & profile images. Peaceful Player's profile picture is the result of those abuses: the same picture was given to numerous players on multiple occasions. He's also recall CubeGun Defense's profile image was changed, too, but it's since been fixed.
Censored Textures in PublicPlanet-1: As far I know, MrOzymandias haven't checked out PublicPlanet-1 on either server. but this video features textures that predate Kogama's open alpha test.
FirstHero's Amnesia map is finished: Game (missing information).
War 4's disappearance in May 19, 2018: ?
Hidden script function in Pink pawn block: It was used as texture placeholder and well known as "Hacked Block" by some of the kogama community. in fact, it has no script. It can still be found in pictures of hacked avatars.
Lava island in WAR 4: ?
Battery box debug password: MrOzymandias imagine this is just rubbish for the iceberg image. The battery box was a cube responsible for powering other cubes (e.g., light, fire, smoke), but it became 100% worthless when those cubes became powered by default. It was re-released on the brazil server, and it's still available to use.
Casper's melancholic trumpet melody: I imagine this references Caspar, Kogama's CEO back in the day. As for the melody, it's unknown.
Cut video footage in Panda love: Video
Unknown if it are the actually footage of the original video (In my opinion).
(missing information).Level Four: Very Dark
Crying Sword Girl in avatar edit: Joe Dawn guess this avatar once had a gap between the eyes. (missing / forgotten information).
2013 Trailer extended version: I don't think that this video is extended in any way, but I can vouch for the fact that it is indeed the original trailer from the KoGaMa website's front page circa 2013 (as poorly produced as it seems).
Old Poison Block texture caused brainwashing: Jatsu is generally credited with discovering how to break textures by stretching them around a block. He published a game featuring animated poison / lava textures stretched out and used in moving platforms. It was kinda hypnotic-looking I guess.
Ice Block in the April 2012 Alpha: There was ice back then and it's still existed today. I'd like to say it was a tad shinier, but nothing more.
Rituals involving Cube-Gun buildings: ?
Game records all of your control input in Michal maps: ?
Silver is hidden from normal players and it's used in illegal trades: Originally, Kogama's currency was gold. Then when open alpha testing came around, it was silver instead, with an unused gold currency. Then premium textures were released, and so was a premium gold currency. Then silver was removed and gold was made the only currency once more. Even when silver was phased out and rendered worthless, the silver count was still listed for a time under a dropdown menu. As for the rest, it's a rubbish. The only "illegal" trades that silver was used for was in silver-to-gold conversions.
Mentioning FirstHero in April 28 2015 instantly crashed your game: It's rubbish.
Picking up the Mutant powerup 18 times without jumping caused hallucinations during September 2018: Also this one is rubbish.
Ghost's interaction with the warp block: And also this one.
Looking at the statue NPCs in Minecraft Roleplay causes memory loss: Video (missing information).
THE 09/04/2012 CLIFF MEETING (DO NOT RESEARCH): In April 9, 2012 all kogama clans organized the meeting in the US server, unknown if it actually happened or not. According to MrOzymandias, While say this is also a rubbish, April 9, 2012 actually predates to his joining... Unless that date is in the American format, and therefore September 4, 2012. Still, rubbish There were a handful of clans in April, and innumerable in September. The EBC did a lot of clan meetings, or at least liked the outsiders to think so; but they more or less liked to assume they were the only clan out there, so they wouldn't have stooped to meet with whatever other clans existed back then. Sorry, there isn't a whole of room for conspiracy in this game.
