Once you join a game and right before it starts loading like the screen with the color changing cubes if you chat to someone and you are still typing a message and the loading screen appears before you press enter you will not be able to finish your message and you will have to exit the private chat and open it again to who you are taking to and restart your message.
Experiment
Step one: Join a game.
Step two: Type on someones private chat before the cube loading screen appears.
Step three: Make sure that you dont press enter and continue typing, Once the loading screen appears you will no longer be able to chat so to resolve the problem exit private chat and open it up again.
