[ KoGaMa 2014 || KoGaMa 2015 ]
Greetings, everykoga! Here we are again; that awesome time of year! 2016 has come and gone. It may not have been the best year for the world, but it sure was a lot better for KoGaMa!
This year, we'll be looking at ALL servers instead of focusing on just Friends (even though it's the best). WWW, BR, Friends, Test, Discord (jkjk). Not only that, but we'll also look at a few things with the community.
So, what specifically will we cover? We will be going through all posts that are not Highlights. The Friends Server had 35 posts, BR had 9 and WWW had 3. We will also be going through some community events. This should be fun!
Are you ready? I know I am! We got lots to see and not a lot of time to see it, so.. Here we go!
Logic Game Competition Results (January 8)
Remember that Logic Game Competition that started near the end of 2015? Announcing the winners! Congrats to all the winners! These games are really awesome and I highly recommend you also play them. This competition was sadly the last for the Friends server.
BR hosts video competition for Carnival (February 6)
Friends and WWW aren't having anymore competitions, eh? Come on down to the BR Server! With the 2016 Carnival here, we're having a video competition! We're going to show everyone that we know how to partay!
Release 1.32.6 (February 11)
Optimizaton patch is here! This includes an update to Unity 5.3, which has been incredibly unstable (more opportunity for reporting bugs and getting rewards, yay!), and some more WebGL optimizations! There have been a few issues here and there, but hey! More bug reporting opportunites!
BR Carnival Competition Winners (February 15)
Three winners have been chosen for the 2016 Carnival Competition! Congrats! We're hoping more KoGaMa videos will pop up on YouTube! No coupon code this time, but prepare yourself for Easter; there might be one then!
Also, we're done with competitions.
Release 1.32.7 (February 19)
JoinFlow Optimization! Loading should be a lot faster now! Sweet! Thanks, Devs! We now have slightly more time to do what we need!
BR Servers Go Down (February 24)
The BR Servers go down. Well, that was unfortunate. Luckily, best Dev insmo was able to get them back up and even gave out a coupon code as an apology! The coupon awarded the player the No Power Badge and 40xp! I'd say that's a fair trade.
KoGaMa Makes It Onto A Report (March 10)
KoGaMa got onto a report! Translating the post: "As said in the title, KoGaMa appeared in a report on the RJTV program. In it, tgtgbb (Arthur) appears speaking as he helped to create a map that gives tips for the fight against Dengue, Zika and Chico Cunha . . . Since many people can't watch it, here is the video of the report: Entrevista no RJTV: Todos Contra a Dengue (KoGaMa) . . . If you would like to play the game, click here: Somos Anti-Dengue".
Wow! Good job, everykoga! That's amazing! It's so great to see Kogas stand up against fevers, diseases, illnesses.
New UI (March 11)
Did someone say 'BRAND NEW USER INTERFACE UPDATE'? KoGaMa has a new look! It looks incredible! Thanks, Devs!
Live Release Coming Soon (March 15)
Thanks for testing everyone! We're planning on releasing the new User Interface update to Live (WWW and BR) soon! The release candidate will hopefully be close to bug free, but we'd still really appreciate it if you could look out for new bugs! Also, did you know that since we've got a new UI, we also need new translations? Apply to become a translator today!
Release Candidate Released (March 16)
The release candidate is here! If all goes well, we're pushing this out to Live. Now's you last chance to go out and seek some bugs for the bonus rewards!
Join Related Issues (March 21)
Hey, guys! We've been experiencing some Join Related Issues, so if you encounter one, please contact us! If it's a genuine bug, you will be rewarded greatly!
Most Wanted Bug (March 23)
WANTED: DEAD OR .. PREFERABLY DEAD. There's been a very severe issue with the JoinFlow, which leads the game to crash when you try to join. It should have been fixed, but you can never be too sure. If you manage to find it, please send the log file to the Devs so they can review the issue and hopefully fix it once and for all! Also, you'll be rewarded greatly! Not only will you get an instant Tester Badge upgrade, but 200 gold and 2000 XP! So, go out there, find that criminal and bring it to justice!
BR Celebrates Easter (March 24)
Happy Easter, everykoga!
Highlights of the Week #86 (March 30)
Remember when I said we wouldn't go over Highlights? I lied.
Mathias' face reveal avatar, submitted by the nub CaptainJens, has won! Go #TeamMathias!
KDS Deletion Disaster (March 29)
Welcome to the brand new KoGaMa Group Chat! Aaaaand it's gone. 3/29: Deletion Disaster as they call it. Rubix, a well known community member (and well known forum destroyer), accidentally deleted 'The Server', now known as 'The KDS', because of curiosity. Have a picture which you may find funny.
BR Posts Rules Again (April 7)
Hey, everykoga! Here's a reminder that rules exist! Read them carefully and comply with them so you won't get into any trouble.
Spin Reward Release | Mathias leaves KoGaMa (April 8)
Remember when a few of us told you to save your gold? Well, here's why! Spinny McSpinwheel! You can now earn even more rewards by playing a game! XP and Gold!
Anyway, this is the day Mathias, one of the awesome interns, left KoGaMa to go work somewhere in Sweden. Toad708, now known as CaptainJens, made a game for Thomas and Mathias, which you can play here.
Bug Fixes Release (April 15)
More bug fixes! This release fixes a lot of joining issues, allowing you to join more easily and go ahead and do what you need.
Spin is Missing (April 26)
Spinny has gone missing! Oh noes! Fear not, though, for he's only gone temporarily. The Devs are simply testing a new build which has even more optimizations and bug fixes! Joinflow's been optimized some more!
Also, Daniel explains why Spinny was missing and it's quite a good explanation. Read it!
Spin is Back! (April 28)
Spinny is back! Not only that, but there's also some awesome optimizations and fixes with this release!
Spin Release Candidate (May 2)
Ready to test? We've got a new release candidate! This release removes gold from Spinny. As it turns out, Kogas were spending 100k gold and getting 500k back. That's not good. Can you imagine what would happen if it was released on Live? Anyway, another new feature is a notification when you or someone else wins an awesome prize!
Release Candidate Released (May 10)
Graphical changes and tweaks! Ready to release to Live! This release includes: fixes on broken Russian text, optimized sounds effects, tweaks on the UI, and a few other things. Not bad!
Bug Fixes Release (May 15)
"We just released a lot of bug fixes on Friends."
Yup. That's it.
Bug Fixes Release (With Changelog) | Spin Released on WWW (May 18)
Alright, a changelog! Now you're talking!
This update includes: a cap of 60fps for the Standalone Client, kick-if-idle feature, altered algorithm for rewards, pressure plate and crosshair fix!
Bug Fixes Release (May 20)
Third post with the exact same title, here we go! This release includes: a new Mobile release, notification when you do not meet requirements set on an object, notifies when someone from your country joins, removed some unnecessary notifications, fixed issue with multithrowing star and 2D draw issue when placing an item from your inventory!
KoGaMational Pressure Plate Day (May 27)
I hug pressure plates; do you?
Pressure Plate Day! These items are used so much and yet get so little recognition.
Avatar Offer Release (May 30)
Ah, the update I accidentally lost 750 gold to..
This new release includes: Avatar offers! When collecting your gold or spin, you may encounter an avatar offer. This feature chooses a random avatar from the Top 100s and offers you the ability to purchase it and instantly use it. Yes, you heard me right! You can instantly use it! After purchasing an avatar, you can choose to wear it.
Bug Fixes Release (May 31)
And another one! This release includes: fixes to issues in which the player is stuck processing data, fixes an issue in which the player cannot adjust their hat after purchasing an avatar thorugh the offer, improved notification telling users they cannot sell avatars purchased from an offer, and scaled popups correctly!
Bug Fixes and Minor Changes (June 21)
More fixes! Thomas will be taking Daniel's spot this time, so let's see what's included!
This release includes: a very useful feature - whenever you lose your waterplane, you can simply try to place another and the existing one will teleport beneath you! Some issues with the RoundCube not saving have been fixed, fullscreen and scaling popups has been fixed, tourists remaining even after leaving has been fixed, "viewing camera in inventory will no longer change your existing camera's settings" - whatever that means, some changes to notifications when accepting a request with the hotkey (R), and removed the publish avatar button if it was purchased.
There's even been Mobile fixes, as well as a fancy new splash screen when you launch the app. Looking good!
News: Earn Gold by Watching an Ad (July 6)
Thomas is replacing Daniel again, so let's see what this is all about!
Ads! Gold! Watch an Ad while using WebGL and get some gold for it. You get gold, the Devs get money! It's a win-win!
Android Fix Release (July 11)
"Minor update to verify the android release isn't interfering with the PC version of the game.
" Thanks, Devs!
This update includes: "Fixes for the android release. Shouldn't affect PC users at all - if all is as it should be."
Simple update, but a good one, nevertheless.
View System Changes (July 22)
New view distance system! It's a big update for the way models and items are shown in the game. This should improve performance for some players!
It also completely ruins a few games. What good is a sniper if you can't even see your targets? Oh, well! Doesn't matter that much! As long as KoGaMa is improving, I'm happy!
Bug Fixes! (July 26)
Few patches for the new view system, seeing as many complained the distance was too small. Thanks, Devs!
Anyway, this update also fixes: sounds on pickups, bug with wind turbine and logic, flamethrower's flame being invisible, player stats not being reset after game reset, cube guns fire two shots, weapons do twice as much damage, players randomly catch fire (they actually just stay on fire), notification messsage for accepting player shows their name instead of yours.
Bug Fixes Release (August 9)
Ah, the title is back! I missed you. Anyway, this update "tweaked view distances to see further, especially for enemies", which was requested by many. Thanks, Devs!
Also included: fix for hotkeys triggering when finishing chat message, levels and stars now fade like gamecoins, fixed double sounds on some objects, fixed mute button, added the /h chat command.
More Bug Fixes! (August 11)
Few more bug fixes! This update includes: H hotkey is back, Mobile rotation bug from other users' PoV, reduced viewing range of some objects, slightly increased viewing distance on Mobile, resolution of phones with low GPUs is lowered, fixed object enabler bug in which objects were invisible, fixed impulse sound when spamming left click, multithrowing stars work on Mobile again.
New badges! (August 15)
Calling all Mobile Testers! Limited edition badges for users who report bugs exclusive to Mobile! Not only that, but you get a 2x boost on all Mobile bugs! Get out there and start reporting!
New Release (August 19)
"We just released an experimental build of a new Unity version to Friends. Anything could be broken because that's just how Unity works..."
Best release post.
CaptainJens Becomes Forum Moderator (August 22)
All hail the new Forum Mod!
Android Ad 4 Gold Release (August 31)
New Mobile update! You can now watch ads for gold! It's really awesome and I recommend you do it. So much gold for simply watching an ad! I like it a lot more than WebGL. Good job, Devs! Thanks!

KoGaMa Mobile has been released on BR!

Mobile changes and fixes for Desktop! This update includes: removal of gradient from tourist promotion text, fixed issue in which you wouldn't be able to see avatars on the winning screen, fixed movable settings not showing decimals correctly, reworked ads on mobile slightly, fixed issues with rejoining when a session is still active in the background.
This update also: made spin and gold notifications clickable., and added gold particles when you claim gold from a newly published game.
It's raining money! err.. gold. It's raining gold.

This update fixed: the ability to teamkill, buggy behavior when a hovercraft is destroyed by fire, removed reflections of logic cubes in edit mode on water (years old bug fixed in minutes! #TeamThomas), cubegun target visuals fixed in vehicles, spin notification no longer breaks you, leaving vehicle should no longer fire once with cubegun and multithrowingstars. "Jetpacks and hamsterwheels now actually trigger pressure plates as they should! Amazing!"
Gotta love ya, Thomas. Gotta love ya.
Team Requirements (October 6)
YES! Biggest KoGaMa update of 2016! Team Requirements! Brought to you by CarlDev!
"It is a requirement just like Stars, Gamecoins and Level, and it works on the Teleporter and the Flag.
With this you will be able to (as an example) teleport to a blue team exlusive location, or take the flag in the red team's base without them being able to. We hope to see a lot of cool new games from this and hope you all love the feature like we do!"

Godculus Leak (December 11)
Quite a day this was. Screenshots of the Godculus, an amazing blueprint that allowed a Koga to become a giant turret, were posted by Codrew on to the KDS on December 11, at 1:10 PM EST. He invited others to test it on the Test Server, which led the KDS to go into 'Leakdown Mode' to protect the Test Server's location. Codrew, known for his amazing Project Workshop videos and videos on features from the old test server, decided to continue by making a video on the Godculus. Since it wasn't a Project Workshop video, he had more freedom to add whatever he desired. The video is well done, explaining what the Godculus is and what it does while also adding some humor. I recommend you watch it (click here). The video quickly spread, garnering 2877 views by the end of 2016. The Godculus was removed from the Test Server shortly after, though it's likely it was not because of the Leak. The Devs, after learning about the Leak, restricted the Test Server, saying it should have been like that in the first place. Good job, though! Can't wait to see if it'll be released in 2017!

Happy New Years!
Whew! That was a lot! All in all, 2016 was a pretty good year for KoGaMa!
I still can't believe this post took me 5-6ish hours to make.. And I still didn't finish. Oh, well.
Any mistakes and first-person parts should be ignored. I spent too much time on this and don't want to spend any more. I got a family to celebrate with, ya know.
